How to Buy Running Shoes?

I am not sure how to buy running shoes. What should I look out for. How to choose my running shoes?

Answer by Dominique:

If you're in the market for a new pair of running shoes, then you need to know how to make a great purchase that you'll be happy with. After all, as any runner can tell you, a bad pair of shoes or one that doesn't fit properly can really disrupt your training. They can lead to injury and discomfort, or simply poor performance. Either way, it's something you want to avoid and you need to know how to make a sound decision.

One of the first and most important things to consider is the kind of foot that you have. Now, most people think about whether they have narrow feet or wide feet, and this is definitely important to make sure you get the right size and that you stick with a brand that can cater to your needs.

However, you also need to think about your foot type in terms of the arch. Different arch types means different contact points with the shoe and with the pavement, and it means different requirements for padding and shaping. The three basic types are normal arch, flat foot, and high arch. Depending on where you fall into this spectrum you'll want to seek out different shoes and styles, based around your specific needs.

Of course, this is just the start of what you'll need to know to buy running shoes successfully each and every time. Don't forget to consider the quality of the brand, and the price of the shoes, along with how long they last and what kinds of other benefits or comfort features they provide. By doing all of this, you'll find a pair of running shoes that fits great and helps you to perform while avoiding injury and staying comfortable.

Check out my running shoes-page for more information and links to many different running shoe review pages.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Dominique
